Andrea Gorton

Andrea Gorton enters her second year as the head coach of the Indiana Tech women’s soccer program heading into the 2023 season.

In her first season (2022), she led the Warriors to a 4-10-3 overall record and a 2-7-2 record in WHAC play, where they would finish in a four way tie for eighth in the WHAC standings, just missing out on the WHAC Tournament due to a tiebreaker putting the Warriors in ninth. The Warriors had one WHAC All-Newcomer pick, 15 WHAC All-Academic Team members, and 12 NAIA Scholar-Athletes.

Gorton is the sixth head coach in program history and follows Jim Lipocky who led the program for 15 years before stepping down in the spring of 2022.

"Coach Gorton brings amazing soccer experience and tactical knowledge." Director of Athletics Jessie Biggs said. "We are excited to see the development of current players and some great recruitment of future Warriors to the program."

Growing up in St. Louis, Missouri, Gorton went on to earn an athletic scholarship at Western Illinois University, playing four years of NCAA Division I soccer where she was named team captain as a sophomore and held that title through her senior year. During her time as a Leatherneck, the team earned its best record in program history, first appearance in the Summit League Tournament, and was named one of the NCAA's most improved programs in the year 2005. She also played one season in the W-League for the St. Louis Archers in 2004.

Gorton began her coaching career as the Head Women's Soccer Coach at Garden City Community College in 2009, earning the programs best record in school history in her first season. She then moved to Michigan, spending nearly 10 years coaching for various clubs in the Metro Detroit area and most recently a Director of Coaching. She also spent time working as a U.S. Youth National Team Network Scout from 2017-2022. Gorton currently holds a USSF National B Coaching License and an advanced National Diploma.
